Description

Manor Farm is a detached farmhouse dating to the late 16th and early 17th centuries, with further development in the 19th century. The building is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone with a stone slate roof and ashlar stacks featuring moulded skirtings. It has a ‘T’ shaped plan, with 19th-century lean-to extensions to the rear left and a 19th-century lean-to porch. A 20th-century rock-faced wall conceals a 20th-century conservatory at the rear gable, which is not of special interest.

The south front has three bays, featuring a central gable with a single light in the gable apex, set within a moulded, stilted-headed surround and a stopped hood. Below this, three-light wooden casements with moulded surrounds and stopped hoods flank a six-panel door, which is positioned off-centre to the left; a four-pane hall light sits above the door, sheltered by a timber-clad gabled canopy. A three-light ovolo-moulded window is above the door, and a three-light ovolo-moulded stone mullioned window is positioned on the first floor of the right-hand gable end. The gable end has flat coping with roll-cross saddles. The interior has not been inspected.
