Description
College House is a villa built between 1820 and 1850, featuring stucco over brick, a hipped slate roof, and brick ridge and end stacks. It is accompanied by iron railings. The building has two storeys above a basement and five first-floor windows. Notable stucco details include a first-floor band and tooled architraves around the windows. The ground floor has taller 6/6 sash windows, while the basement has 3/6 sashes, all set in plain reveals with sills. The central entrance is accessed by a flight of roll-edged steps leading to a six-fielded-panel door, flanked by sidelights and a fanlight with batwing and circle glazing bars. This entrance is framed by a distyle Roman Doric porch adorned with wreaths on the entablature. At the rear, the building retains 6/6 and 8/8 sashes, and features an off-centre left round-arched staircase window with round-arched glazing at the top, along with a 6/6 sash between two 2/2 sashes, which has an elliptically-arched recess above. The interior has not been inspected. The area railings display a diamond motif, with stick balusters and a wreathed handrail on the sides of the steps. College House occupies a prominent position.
