Description
Two pairs of gate piers with walls and railings are located at Faithfull House, dating from around 1830. The gate piers are made of ashlar over brick and are square in shape, standing approximately 2 meters high. They feature chamfered plinths, recessed panels on the shafts, moulded cornices, and shaped caps. The south boundary wall is constructed of pinkish-brown brick with ashlar coping, ramped, and measures about 12 meters long and 2 to 4 meters high. There is a taller end pier that connects to a pedestrian archway leading to Faithfull House. The iron railings and 20th-century gates have been renewed and are not included in the listing. These gate piers are a significant feature of the streetscape and are part of a distinguished group in Suffolk Square.
