Description

No. 15 Suffolk Parade is a terraced house and shop built around 1820 to 1834. The building features ashlar stonework over a brick structure, which is now painted, with a concealed roof and end stucco stacks, as well as wrought-iron balconies.

The exterior is two storeys high with one window on the ground floor and two on the first floor, the left end of which has a canted corner. The first-floor windows are 6/6 sashes set in plain reveals with sills. A cornice and blocking course with copings crown the building. The ground floor has a shop front that extends around the left corner, with an entrance at the angle featuring a glazed door and overlight. The plate-glass windows are flanked by slender pilasters and topped with a shaped frieze, fascia, and cornice. A floral mosaic marks the entrance.

The interior has not been inspected. Notably, the first-floor balconies have an embellished circle motif. Historically, the building is shown on Merrett's 1834 Map and was occupied by the Devonshire Dairy in 1892 and the Gloucestershire Dairy in 1957. It forms a group with Nos. 16 and 17 and other 19th-century properties in Suffolk Parade.
