Description
No. 3 Rainbow Hill Terrace is a terraced house built around 1830 to 1850, with later additions and alterations, including restorations completed in 1988. The house features painted stucco over brick and has a slate roof with a parapet. There is a brick stack at the left end with an oversailing detail and pots, and the bay window also has a slate roof.
The exterior consists of two storeys with a basement and includes two first-floor windows. The stucco detailing features pilaster strips, a first-floor sill band, an eaves band, and a moulded architrave at the entrance, with the stucco scored to resemble ashlar. The upper-floor sashes are 8/8 in plain reveals. To the left on the ground floor, there is a canted oriel window with 2/2 and 1/1 sashes that have horns. The entrance is accessed by seven steps flanked by low walls, leading to a five-panel door. The upper pair and centre of the door are raised and fielded with bolection moulding, while the bottom pair has flush beading on recessed panels. The reveals are panelled, and there is a Gothic traceried fanlight above the door. The basement features a pair of 20th-century side-hung, multi-paned windows.
The interior has not been inspected. Historically, Nos 1-10 Rainbow Hill Terrace form a notable group of listed buildings that compare well with other developments from the same period in Worcester, such as Britannia Square, Lansdowne Crescent, and Lark Hill.
