Description

A pair of semi-detached houses dating to approximately 1830 to 1840, situated in Cheltenham. The houses are constructed of stucco over brick, with a hipped slate roof and stuccoed brick stacks at the ends.

The external appearance is of two storeys with a basement, displaying a symmetrical 3-window arrangement to the first floor and a 2-window arrangement to the ground floor, with a recessed bay on the right-hand side. Stucco detailing includes horizontal rustication on the ground floor of the left-hand house, with voussoirs above the openings. The first floor has 2/2 pane sash windows within plain reveals, while the ground floor on the left has 1/1 horned sashes, all in plain reveals. The windows on the left-hand house have tooled architraves with sills on feet. Access is provided by four roll-edged steps leading to recessed, part-glazed 3-panel doors, each accompanied by a sidelight and overlight with margin lights. The basement has been altered with 20th-century openings. The interior remains uninspected. The houses contribute to a notable group of villas.
