Description
Westhall is a villa built between 1831 and 1848 by RW and C Jearrad. The building features a stucco exterior over a brick structure, topped with a hipped slate roof. It has stucco end stacks with cornices and an iron and glass porch. The villa is two storeys high and has two first-floor windows, with the entrance located at the side and a range extending to the rear. The main garden facade showcases two full-height canted bays, each fitted with 1/1 sash windows. The ground floor windows are taller and adorned with cornices on consoles, while the first-floor windows have sills supported by feet featuring an anthemion motif. The entrance on the right return consists of double part-glazed doors with an overlight that has decorative glazing, set within a porch supported by iron pilasters and topped with a domed roof. The interior has not been inspected. Westhall is part of the former Lansdowne Estate and is recognized as a notable example of suburban town planning.
