Description
A terrace of six houses built around 1820 to 1850, now incorporating the rear of the Echo offices and attached railings. The houses are brick-built with a plastered facade and slate roofs, topped with brick stacks dividing the properties. The exterior features rusticated detailing on the ground floor, a band across the first floor, a frieze, architraves, a cornice, and a blocking course. Most windows are original 6/6 sash windows in simple reveals, with sills. The front entrances have steps leading to four-panel doors with overlights containing glazing bars. The interior was not inspected. The iron railings to the sides of the steps and across the front have spearhead and dog-bar detailing, with similar gates to the basements. Basement steps have stick balusters. First-floor window guards feature a heart-and-anthemion motif produced by the Carron Company.
