Description
This is a pair of drive piers located at the north end of the carriage sweep for numbers 96 to 104 Bath Road, built around 1820 to 1850, with later restorations. The piers are made of stucco over brick and feature incised anthemion motifs on the panels, chamfered angles, and moulded capping topped with draped urn finials. They are part of a group that includes another pair of drive piers at the center and a single drive pier at the south end of the carriage sweep. These piers are an important feature of the streetscape and contribute to the setting of numbers 96 to 104 Bath Road.
