Description
The drive pier at the south end of the carriage sweep for numbers 96 to 104 on Bath Road dates from around 1820 to 1850 and has undergone later restorations. It is made of stucco over brick and features incised anthemion motifs on its panels, chamfered angles, and a moulded capping topped with a draped urn. This drive pier is an important part of the streetscape, contributing to the overall character of the area alongside the pair of drive piers at the center and the pair to the north of the carriage sweep. It plays a significant role in the setting for numbers 96 to 104 on Bath Road.
