Description

BUCKLAND MONACHORUM MILTON COMBE SX 46 NE 3/88 Gladisford Cottage - GV II

Small house. Circa late C18/early C19. Slate rubble walls. Half hipped slate roof. Rubble stack to right gable end, projecting. Double depth almost square plan with central entrance; 2 larger front rooms, right- hand one heated, service rooms behind. The gable end stack probably heats both right-hand rooms. 2 storeys. Regular 2 window front with blind window at centre on 1st floor. Small- paned original casements with H-L hinges, all 2-light except for ground floor right- hand window which is 3-light. The plank door at the centre may be original and is under a shallow gabled door hood. All openings have segmental stone arches above. Doorway at rear of right-hand end with window above - both probably original. Interior not inspected.
