Description
Gladisford Cottage is a small house dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It features slate rubble walls and a half hipped slate roof, with a projecting rubble stack at the right gable end. The building has a double depth, almost square plan with a central entrance leading to two larger front rooms, the right-hand one being heated, with service rooms located behind. The gable end stack likely heats both right-hand rooms. The cottage is two storeys high and has a regular two-window front, with a blind window at the centre on the first floor. The original small-paned casements, all with H-L hinges, are two-light, except for the ground floor right-hand window, which is three-light. The central plank door, possibly original, is sheltered by a shallow gabled door hood. All openings are topped with segmental stone arches. There is also a doorway at the rear of the right-hand end with a window above, both likely original. The interior has not been inspected.
