Description

The gate piers at Buckland Abbey date from the early 18th century, with one having been restored in the 20th century. They are made of dressed granite and feature square piers topped with an ogee moulded cornice. Each pier has a shaped neck with a moulded base, capped by a ball finial. The right-hand pier has had its cornice and neck replaced in the same design during the 20th century.
