Description
Park Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse that was altered around the mid-19th century. It has rendered rubble walls and a gable-ended slate roof. The building features a projecting rubble front lateral stack and two projecting rendered rubble gable end stacks, both with brick shafts. The right-hand stack includes a square and circular oven projection.
The farmhouse has a three-room-and-through-passage plan, with the lower end located to the left. The hall is heated by the front lateral stack, while the lower and inner rooms are heated by the end stacks. The interior has been modernized and the front was re-faced in the mid-19th century.
The exterior is two storeys high with an asymmetrical four-window front, featuring 19th-century 16-pane horned sash windows and one late 20th-century three-light casement window on the ground floor to the right. There is a 20th-century plank door to the left of the lateral stack and a part-glazed door at the right-hand end. A modillion cornice is present below the eaves.
The interior was inaccessible during the survey, but it is possible that 17th-century features are concealed by the mid-19th-century remodeling, and joinery from this later period may also be present.
