Description

Park Cottage is a small house dating back to the 17th century, with a 20th-century addition. It is built of rendered cob walls and has a thatched roof, gabled on the left side and hipped at the right end, featuring a brick stack at the left gable. The original plan consisted of two rooms; direct entry leads into the left-hand room, which is heated by an end stack, while the right-hand room remains unheated. A 20th-century addition extends beyond the right-hand room. The front facade, regular in appearance, has a late 19th or early 20th-century design, showcasing two small-paned, three-light casement windows. A central 20th-century plank and part-glazed door is also present. A single-storey, slate-roofed addition extends from the right-hand end. Internally, substantial cross beams are visible in both rooms. The left-hand room features a large open fireplace with a timber lintel and an integrated oven.
