Description
Forches is a small house dating from the early 18th century, with a 20th-century addition. It has rendered cob walls and a thatched roof that is gabled at the right end and hipped at the left. There is a brick stack at the right gable end and a small brick shaft at the left-hand end. The house has a two-room plan, with the larger heated room located on the right.
The exterior is two storeys high, featuring a regular three-window front that faces away from the road. This front has late 20th-century PVC leaded pane casements, with the first-floor windows being half dormers. To the right of centre, there is a similar glazed double door beneath a gabled slate door hood. At the left-hand end, there is an early 20th-century single-storey addition with a tiled roof. Additionally, there is a 19th-century one-storey outbuilding lean-to against the right-hand end, which has a low door at the front.
Inside, there is an open fireplace at the right-hand end, although the lintel is obscured by a mantelpiece.
