Description

This listing describes a row of seven headstones located about 2 meters east of the chancel of the Church of St Peter in Lamerton. These monuments date from the 18th century and are made of slate.

The headstone for Daniel Condy, dated 1785, features a scrolled top and a fluted panel adorned with a cherub's head and wings, along with carved sides and a verse, all in good lettering. The headstone for John Cundy, from 1774, has a square top with a moulded border and also displays good lettering.

William Condy's headstone, dated 1749, has a square top with a moulded border, a panel at the top featuring a cherub's head and naturalistic feathered wings, a vase with stylised flowers, and fine lettering. The headstone for William Cundy, dated 1786, features a scrolled top with fluted pilasters, a cherub's head and wings, decorative carved borders, and a verse.

John Condy's headstone from 1769 has a nowy-headed design with a vase of stylised flowers, a moulded border, and verses. Another headstone for John Condy features a scrolled top with a cherub's head and wings, an inscription panel with a carved border, and a verse below. Lastly, the headstone for John Condy, dated 1738, has a nowy-headed design with a plain moulded border and good lettering.
