Description
The Robins monuments and railings, located in the churchyard about 2 meters south of the south aisle of the Church of St Peter, date from the early 19th century. This chest tomb is made of limestone and is accompanied by cast iron railings. The tomb features a flat top with a moulded edge and a moulded plinth. It has fluted splayed pilasters resting on balls at each corner, with oval inscription panels on the east and west sides, and rectangular panels with diagonal insets at the corners on the north and south sides. The inscriptions commemorate Thomas Robins, who died in 1818, and the Edgecombe family from the late 17th century. The tomb stands on a plain plinth, and the railings are topped with knob finials and urn finials at the corners.
