Description

The Prest ledger stone is fixed to the churchyard retaining wall to the north and east of the Church of St John the Baptist. This ledger stone dates from the late 17th century and is made of slate. It features an inscription commemorating Mary Prest, who was buried in 1661. Below the inscription, within a decorative frame, is the date of 1662, along with a verse.
