Description

This is an early 19th-century mill building, with some rebuilding occurring in the late 20th century. It is located about 15 metres north of Boyton Mill. The building is constructed of stone rubble, with a hipped slate roof and some brick courses under the eaves. A portion of the left end has been rebuilt using concrete block. The right-hand side of the building houses the original machinery, powered by an overshot water wheel at the rear. The left-hand end was originally a covered area for waggons, used for collecting flour and delivering grain, and was partly rebuilt in the 20th century and converted into a workshop. The front elevation features two ground floor entrances and two windows – the left-hand window is 20th century while the right-hand window is likely 19th century and has a timber lintel. Inside, there are three floors of surviving machinery and collar rafter roof trusses. The mill was documented as having been "rebuilt" in the early 19th century and was formerly known as Northcott Mill.
