Description
This is a house dating from around the mid-18th century, constructed from rendered stone rubble and cob, with a thatched roof featuring gable ends. It has a brick end stack on the left and a large cob and stone rubble end stack on the right. The layout consists of two rooms and possibly a through passage heated by the end stacks. Alternatively, the house may have originally extended to the right, suggesting it could have had a three-room and passage plan. There is a 19th-century lean-to outshut at the rear right, which was rebuilt in the 20th century.
The exterior is two storeys high and features an almost symmetrical front with two windows. It has a 20th-century plank door and a slate lean-to porch. On the ground floor, there are two probably late 19th-century or early 20th-century two-light casements, with two more above. Inside, the ceiling beams have been replaced, and there is a chamfered lintel over the fireplace in the right-hand room, which has a large recess next to it, possibly intended for a staircase.
