Description
Blandford House is a small house that dates from the 17th century or possibly earlier. It has plastered cob walls and a thatched roof, which is hipped at the right end and gabled at the left where it connects to another building. There is a projecting plastered stack at the right-hand end with a brick shaft, and a rubble rear lateral stack.
The current layout features a two-room plan, although it may have originally extended to the left into the adjoining property. The right-hand room is heated by the end stack, while the left-hand room is heated by the rear lateral stack and has a stair that projects at the front.
The house is two storeys high and has an asymmetrical two-window front, with one window located above the rectangular stair projection to the left of centre. The windows are early 20th century two-light small-paned casements. There is a part-glazed door from the 20th century in a small lean-to porch to the left of the stair projection.
While the interior was inaccessible during the survey, the house maintains a traditional external appearance and is likely to contain interesting internal features.
