Description
This is an 18th-century outbuilding located approximately 20 meters northeast of Shamland house. It features coursed slatestone rubble construction and a gabled roof covered with mid-19th century pantiles. The central doorway has a chamfered timber lintel, while an extension to the right has a timber lintel above its door, made of stone and cob. Inside, there are two late medieval raised crucks, each with a collar, trenching for purlins, and a yoked apex, classified as Alcock type L1. Both trusses show signs of smoke blackening, indicating they may have been taken from an earlier medieval open hall.
