Description
Hoops Inn is an inn that dates back to the 17th century on the right side and was extended to the left in the 19th century. It features colourwashed render over stone and cob with a gabled thatch roof, and has rendered stone end and ridge stacks. Originally, it had a 3-unit plan which was expanded to a 5-unit plan. The building is two storeys high and has a seven-window range. There are three gabled porches, with two porches flanking a central porch that has a 20th-century door. The porches are adorned with 20th-century casements that have timber lintels and glazing bars. At the rear, there is a 19th-century left wing and a late 19th-century range that has an artificial slate roof. Inside, the room to the right of centre, which was formerly two rooms, features a 17th-century ovolo-moulded beam and a chamfered bressummer over an open fireplace.
