Description
No. 12 Tower Street is an early 19th-century house that has been subdivided. It features solid rendered walls and a slate roof at the front, with a flat roof on the rear range. There is a rendered chimney on the right gable end and another chimney behind the ridge on the left. The building has a plan consisting of two parallel ranges, each likely one room deep. It is two storeys high and has a three-window range. The central door has four panels, with the top two now glazed. The windows are barred sashes, with eight over eight panes in the center and ten over ten panes on each side. The eaves have a boxed cornice, and there are moulded bargeboards. Attached to No. 12 is No. 11 Church Walk, which has a one-window front facing east, a four-panelled door with the top two panels glazed, and an upper-storey window with six-paned sashes. There is a matching window in the side wall facing north. The front garden of No. 12 has a low stone-rubble wall, with a short length of 19th-century iron railing and a gate to the right of the doorway. The interior has not been inspected.
