Description

HUISH SS 51 SW 4/115 Walled garden approximately 30 metres north-north-west of Heanton Satchville GV II

Walled garden. C18 possibly extended in C19. Brick and rubble. The higher section is in garden wall bond and English bond, the top half of the wall is recessed slightly and it has buttresses at intervals along it. Inside there is stonework to approximately half way up. The lower section of walling is flush all the way and has stonework facing it internally. The garden is divided internally into 2 parts and at the centre of the wall which does so is a large pedimented gateway with brick pilaster either side of round-headed doorway,
