Description

Cherry Cottage is a small house likely dating from the early 18th century, with a later 19th or early 20th-century addition. It is constructed of rendered cob and rubble walls, topped by a thatched roof with brick gable end stacks. The original plan comprised two rooms, both heated, with the larger room on the left. A rear outshut was added in the late 19th or early 20th century. The front of the house has a regular three-window facade, featuring 2-light casement windows from the early to mid-20th century, except for one 3-light ground floor window on the left. A 20th-century part-glazed door is located to the right of centre. The interior was inaccessible at the time of the survey.
