GV II

Boundary wall and front gateway. Circa 1850. Local stone rubble with red brick coping and sandstone ashlar dressings to the gate piers. Cast iron railings and gate. The wall which contains a central gateway is built across the front of the garden belonging to Winscott Barton Farmhouse (q.v.) between the barn (q.v.) and granary part of the courtyard of farmbuildings (q.v.). Central gateway has square section piers with low pyramid caps and contains its original double gates. Each side the wall ramps down and is surmounted by railings; spear-headed rails with bulbous standards. This wall and gateway form part of a group with Winscott Barton Farmhouse (q.v.) and its traditional farm buildings.
