Description
Kingscott Baptist Church is a late 19th-century Baptist church with a Sunday school added in 1906. The church is constructed of plastered stone rubble, while the Sunday school is made of whitewashed brick and features a brick stack, all under a slate roof. The church faces south and has a two-window front, with one window on each side of a central pointed arch-headed doorway that contains a plank door. The windows also have pointed arch heads and feature simple timber Y-tracery. There is an additional similar window on the east end and another on the north side. The Sunday school is designed in the same style, with a two-window front and an arch-headed doorway to the right. Between the windows, there is a slate plaque inscribed "Baptist Sunday School, 1906, J.R. Way, pastor." Inside, the church has an open roof supported by A-frame trusses lined with pine planks. Most of the furniture is original, made of plain pine. This chapel is part of an attractive group of listed buildings in the hamlet of Kingscott.
