Cottage. Late C17 or C18, enlarged circa 1880. The older part is plastered stone rubble with cob; stone rubble stack topped with C19 brick; thatch roof. The extension is exposed, snecked local stone with brick dressings and quoins; the stack is similar, slate roof. Plan: 3-room plan cottage facing south-south-east, say south. The older part to left (west) was built as a 2-room plan cottage. The larger left room has a gable-end stack with projecting oven housing was the living room. Small unheated service room to right is now used as a kitchen. Circa 1880 a parlour was added on the right (east) end. It is set back from the front of the old cottage and has a projecting gable-end stack. 2 storeys with lean-to outshut on the right end. Exterior: Irregular 2:2-window front of late C19 and C20 casements with glazing bars. Doorway to the older section of left contains a late C19 - early C20 plank door and the right section has a late C19 part-glazed plank door behind a C19 porch. Interior: has plain carpentry detail where exposed. Roof not inspected although the bottoms of straight principals show on the first floor. Fuschia Cottage is part of a group of attractive listed buildings in the hamlet of Kingscott.
