Description
This outbuilding, located approximately 20 meters southwest of West Goldworthy Farmhouse, is a former stable with a first-floor granary. It dates from the 17th century, with a mid-19th century extension to the right. The structure is built of uncoursed slatestone rubble and features a gabled asbestos sheet roof. It has two storeys and a three-window range. The ground floor includes a 19th-century plank stable door with a timber lintel, flanked by a concrete lintel over a 20th-century window to the right and a timber lintel over small windows to the left. There is also a timber lintel over the loft door. The bay to the right has mid-19th century segmental brick arches above a 20th-century plank door and window, along with a timber lintel over a plank loft door. Steps lead up to the loft door in the left gable end. Inside, the ground floor features 17th-century stop-chamfered beams, while the mid-19th century A-frame roof has pegged collars. This building is included for its group value.
