Description
Cliff Cottage, also known as No. 65, is a cottage dating from the early to mid-19th century, with possible repairs made in the early 20th century. The building is rendered and whitewashed, featuring a slate roof with gable ends and end brick stacks. It has a rectangular, almost square double-depth plan, with two main rooms at the front and an entrance hall located between them. The rooms at the back are likely service rooms. In the early 20th century, the house was restored, and a lean-to outshut was added to the right side, set back from the front.
The exterior is two storeys high with a symmetrical three-window front. It features 19th-century 16-pane sash windows with exposed sash boxes, and there are two hipped-roofed dormers with 19th-century two-light casements. The central door opening has a 19th-century half-glazed porch with a lean-to slate roof and a half-glazed door. To the right, there is a lean-to addition with a slated roof and a three-light 18-pane casement on the front. This addition has a side door opening with a half-glazed door, as well as a further small lean-to with a plank door. The interior has not been inspected.
