Description
The Smale chest tomb, located about 11 metres north of the east wall of the north aisle of the Church of St Michael, is an early 19th-century structure made of freestone. It features an oversailing grey limestone lid and moulded corner balusters. The sides of the tomb have inscription panels that commemorate William Smale, who died in 1816, along with other members of the Smale family.
