Description
This direction post, located about 50 metres north of St John's Church at the junction of Ashburton Road and Newton Road, is likely from the early 19th century. It is made of granite and has a square section monolith. The top of the post is splayed on each side, with inscriptions carved into the splay. One side reads "TO NEWTON," while the other side says "TO ASHBURTON," each accompanied by a directional arrow.
