Description
Corner Cottage is an 18th-century cottage located approximately 30 metres south-east of the Monk's Retreat Inn, accompanied by a front garden wall. The cottage features rubble walls that are rendered at the front and right end, topped with a slate roof that has a gabled right side and a hipped left side. It has two rendered rubble stacks with slate dripcourses; the right-hand stack projects from the gable end, while the other is axial. The layout consists of two main heated rooms with a central entrance hall and end stacks, along with an extra room on the left end, which may have originally been an outbuilding. The cottage is two storeys high and has a symmetrical two-window front on the right, with an additional bay to the left that contains one ground floor window. These windows are likely early 20th-century two-light casements with glazing bars. The central entrance features a 19th-century four-panelled door in the right-hand section. The left gable end, which borders the road, is splayed and includes a loading door on the first floor. The listing also includes the rubble garden wall in front of the cottage. The interior has not been inspected.
