Description

Coburg Cottage and The Cottage are a pair of adjoining cottages, likely dating from the early 19th century. They are located on The Parade in Chudleigh. The cottages are whitewashed and rendered, with thatched roofs, hipped at the ends. There are end stacks and a central axial stack with several chimney pots. Each cottage was probably originally double-depth, comprising two rooms wide with a central entrance. The cottages are two storeys high, with a three-window front to one and a two-window front to the other, featuring regular window arrangement. Each cottage has a 19th-century gabled half-glazed central porch with bargeboards and a finial. Coburg Cottage, on the right-hand side, has two-light casement windows with eight panes per light. The Cottage, on the left-hand side, has similar windows, with an 18-pane sash window above the porch. The interior was not inspected. The cottages have group value with Coburg.
