Description
Blanche House, built in the early 19th century, is a house located on Wolborough Street in Newton Abbot. The exterior features painted stucco and a 20th-century slate roof with tall brick stacks at the gable ends. The house has a double-depth plan and is two storeys high with a symmetrical three-window arrangement. It includes a plinth, a coved eaves cornice, and a narrow overlight above a six-panel door that is glazed at the top. The doorcase has a cornice supported by rectangular brackets, likely the tops of former pilasters, with panelled reveals and soffit. On both floors, the door is flanked by 8/8-pane sash windows, while a 6/6-pane sash window is positioned above the door. The interior has not been inspected. To the right of the house, there is a blank wall that features a 20th-century planked door.
