Description
The bridge over Liverton Brook, located approximately 75 metres east of the Stover Golf Clubhouse, is a road bridge that feeds into Stover Lake, part of the landscaped park known as Stover Park, associated with Stover House. It is believed to be dated 1773 or 1775, although Stover House itself was constructed between 1776 and 1781. The bridge is built of stone rubble with dressed stone details. It features a single span with a raised dressed stone arch ring forming a round arch, complete with a keystone and imposts. The keystone, which is somewhat obscured by lichen, appears to display initials and the date 1773 or 1775. The bridge has long plain abutments and a parapet with rounded coping, as well as round terminal piers topped with round caps.
