Description

Leygreen Farmhouse is a circa 17th or early 18th century farmhouse, with a later 19th century addition at the rear. It is constructed of rendered stone rubble with a slate roof and gabled ends, with a buff coloured brick rear addition. The original plan comprised two rooms and a through passage, with a larger heated room to the right and a small ground floor room to the right of the central porch. A single-storey wing is located at the left (west) end, and the 19th century addition creates a double-depth plan. A large internal chimney stack is present at the right-hand gable end. The farmhouse is two storeys and has an attic. The front façade has a regular arrangement of three windows, featuring late 19th century two-light casements with glazing bars. A two-storey, gabled porch is situated to the left of centre; the inner doorway has a 19th century chamfered frame. A single-storey outbuilding wing extends from the left (west) end, with a lower roofline and two late 19th century windows. The interior was not inspected, apart from the through passage.
