Description
Higher Staplehill is a farmhouse dated 1837, featuring a rendered exterior and a slate roof with rendered stacks at the gable ends. The building has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys tall, with a symmetrical three-window arrangement. It includes 8/8-pane sash windows alongside a central 6/6 sash window, and a six-panel door with an overlight.
Inside, the farmhouse has six-panel doors and dado rails. The ground-floor front rooms feature semicircular arched recesses on either side of the chimney breasts. The room on the right includes a marble fireplace with a reeded architrave and roundels in the upper corner blocks. The staircase is fitted with a mahogany rail, a turned newel, and 20th-century turned balusters.
