Description
This is a threshing barn, probably from the 18th century, located about 30 metres northeast of Hill Farmhouse. It features colourwashed plastered cob on stone rubble footings, with the rear wall patched in brick and a corrugated iron roof that is gabled at both ends. The barn has a rectangular plan with doors on opposite sides. The exterior is single-storey but was originally designed with a loft. There are steps leading up to a pair of massive doors at the front, framed with a chamfered doorframe, and loft doors located to the right and in the right gable end. A smaller doorway is found at the rear, opposite the main entrance. Inside, the barn has pegged collar rafter roof trusses, some of which include later tie beams. The barn has group value with Hill Farmhouse.
