Description
This is a large threshing barn from the 18th century, located immediately south of Haye Farmhouse. It may incorporate a reused date stone inside the ground-floor doorway, which is inscribed "R.H. 1747". The barn is constructed of local rubble with timber lintels over the openings and features a slurried slate half-hipped roof. It has a rectangular plan with wide first-floor opposing threshing and winnowing doorways, and the front doorway is accessed by stone steps from the right. The barn has two storeys, with a central doorway leading to the first floor and ground-floor doorways that have small window openings between them. There are old ledged doors and either ventilated or blocked windows, along with pigeon holes at one end. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to retain its original floor and roof structures.
