Description
House immediately south of the Palms, dating from the 18th century or earlier. It is constructed of whitewashed plastered cob and stone rubble, with a thatched roof that is hipped at the left end and gabled at the right end. The house has a right end stack and an axial stack.
The plan is not fully clear as the interior was not inspected during the survey. It features a single depth range, with the left-hand end being a converted barn. The remainder of the building has two rooflines, suggesting it may have originally been two cottages or a larger house that was remodeled at one end.
The exterior is two storeys high with an asymmetrical five-window front. The main entrance is located to the right of centre, featuring a 20th-century gabled porch. There are two additional doors to the right of centre and another door at the extreme left leading into the former barn. The first floor has 19th and 20th-century two-light timber casements with glazing bars, while the ground floor includes three 20th-century windows, one of which is very large and serves the former barn. The rear elevation facing the road has four first floor windows and four ground floor windows, all of which are 20th-century timber windows.
