Description
This is a 18th-century threshing barn located approximately 20 metres south of Westcott Farmhouse. It is constructed of plastered cob on stone rubble footings and features a thatched roof. The barn has full height doorways in the centre of each long wall, with the rear (southern) doorway being blocked. The front doorway is fitted with 19th-century double plank doors and is flanked by short projecting midstrey walls. The roof is hipped at both ends, and the central section extends a short distance over the doorway as a hood. Inside, the barn is open from the ground to the roof, showcasing a 3-bay roof structure supported by A-frame trusses with pegged and nailed lap-jointed collars and X-apexes.
