Description
Mamhead War Memorial is a First World War memorial that was erected in 1926. The memorial is made from granite and has a square plan. It features a rough-hewn Latin cross mounted on a low plinth, which rests on a stone base. The front (west) face of the plinth is inscribed with the words: "TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND THE MEMORY / OF THE MEN OF MAMHEAD WHO LAID DOWN / THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-1918 / GRANT THEM ETERNAL REST O LORD / AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON THEM." The names of the Fallen are inscribed on the north and south faces of the memorial.
