Description

The stone seat is located in the formal garden south of Dawlish College, which was originally Mamhead House. It was likely built around the same time as the house, between 1827 and 1833, by the architect Anthony Salvin for Sir R.W. Newman, Baronet. The seat is made of Bathstone and features a shaped solid stone back and arms with scrolled ends. It is positioned in the garden to face the south elevation of Mamhead House.
