Description
The terrace wall, built between 1827 and 1833, is located immediately south and east of Dawlish College, formerly known as Mamhead House. Designed by Anthony Salvin for Sir R.W. Newman, the wall is made of Bathstone ashlar. It features a coped design with a recessed center on the east side, flanked by sections that include buttresses with set-offs. At the southeast corner, steps lead down to the gardens situated to the south and east of the house. This terrace wall is significant to the setting of the grade I listed house, Dawlish College.
