Description

The South Pool War Memorial commemorates the First World War. It is constructed from granite and takes the form of a roughly hewn Latin cross set upon a plinth. The east face of the plinth bears a dedicatory inscription in leaded lettering, reading: IN MEMORY/ OF THE MEN FROM THIS PARISH/ WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR/ 1914–1918/ THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE/ (NAMES).
