SX 55 SE BRIXTON STEERPOINT ROAD 4/14 Bridge over disused drive to Kitley House

II

Bridge carrying road over disused drive to Kitley House qv in Yealmpton Parish. Dated 1860 with initials BIPB. Tudor style. Coursed stone rubble with ashlar dressings. Four centred arch on the skew, with keystone bearing the date and initials, flanked by buttresses with set offs. Moulded stringcourse above and armorial shield in raised panel in the parapet. The parapet is stepped and has chamfered coping over the central section. Both sides of the bridge are treated similarly. The inside of the arch is brick-lined.
