Description
Brixton Lodge is a detached house located in a garden, built around 1835. The building is finished in stucco and features a slate hipped roof with overhanging eaves that have a moulded soffit. It has pilastered corners and stands two storeys tall. The south front consists of four bays, with sash windows that include glazing bars, set within moulded architraves and supported by bracketed cills. On the ground floor, there are two splayed bays of sashes and a verandah with openwork cast iron posts. The left-hand (west) return has three bays, with the right-hand bay being blind. The central porch is adorned with two pairs of Tuscan columns that support a heavy entablature, and it features a panelled door, a rectangular fanlight, and narrow sidelights. The rendered chimney stacks are topped with moulded cornices.
