Description
Wreaks Causeway End Bridge is a bridge built in 1777, constructed from coursed stone rubble. It features three low segmental arches with cutwaters on the north side. The bridge has low flat parapets, which have likely been renewed, but still display flat coping stones that were inscribed in the 1870s by a local mason who also worked on a barn opposite the Ship Inn in Kirkby Ireleth and other buildings in the area. The inscriptions include "ENGLAND FOR EVER," "BE KIND TO THE POOR," and "GP/1878."
